RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Utilizes continuous quality improvement principles to evaluate and revise existing electronic health record (EHR) application training programs and materials.
- Creates workflow documentation to identify systematic tasks within new applications and enhancements to existing applications. Based on analysis of new or revised workflows, the trainer will identify, design, develop, and implement appropriate educational solutions for EHR applications and enhancements.
- Conducts education and training of clinical and non-clinical users on the proper use of the EHR.
- Participates in the planning, designing, development and testing of software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
- Develops training courses and materials to assist staff in the most appropriate use of information systems’ applications with a working understanding of clinical / revenue terminology and operational workflow processes.
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues and other departments.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Essential : standing, stooping / bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.

- Available 24 / 7 to respond to emergency situations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, public communication, education, instructional design, technology, adult education or other related field; or four (4) years experience in adult training or education may be substituted for the education requirement.
- Epic certification preferred. Epic certification must be obtained within six (6) months of entrance into the position.
- Must successfully complete and maintain certification(s) in the application(s) assigned, and as may be specified per the training agreement.B. EXPERIENCE :
- In addition to the educational requirement, two (2) years prior experience in supporting business systems or healthcare related experience in application support or two (2) years clinical experience including one (1) year as a designated “SuperUser” in Epic / EHR.
- One (1) year or more demonstrated experience facilitating classroom, on–line, or one–on–one training.
- Experience to demonstrate : o Strong presentation skills.o Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication and organization skills.o Strong desktop application usage including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Relevant clinical / non-clinical experience in Epic / EHR preferred.
- Knowledge of Adobe Captivate experience highly desirable.
