What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Quantum Engineering position at QuEra Computing, Inc.?
Summary
The individual in this role will lead and manage QuEra's strategy, execution and service delivery to design, build, and validate various optical systems for neutral-atom quantum computers. This leader will chiefly endeavor to ensure formal engineering practices evolve toward closer alignment with industry standards (e.g., documentation, tools) while reinforcing a top-down emphasis toward a more succinct manufacturing-oriented state (e.g., set up of test and verification processes).
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for refining specifications of various optical systems or modules from R&D prototypes.
- Lead efforts to standardize optical module designs
- Set up and maintain test stations to validate standard optical modules.
- Collect feedback on optical modules from end users.
- Develop and de-risk critical optical components to enable next generation QPU
- Other duties as assigned by management.
