What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actors/Game Masters for Escape Rooms! position at QUEST ROOM?
Questroom is looking for new GAME MASTERS and performers! The ideal candidate is a positive, enthusiastic person with good stamina who is comfortable interacting with people, wearing costumes, masks - and able to do different Voices/accents (though we are happy to teach!)
Weekends and CALL-IN shifts are a must. Actors, Escape room enthusiasts, gamers, students, and performers - this might be a great fit for you. We need someone with full availability for Friday - Saturday - Sunday. Other than that it can be flexible for gigs/auditions, etc.

There will be a few days of CALL-IN shifts which pay $20 AN HOUR if you are called in.
We need someone who is bright, quick at learning new things, great at problem-solving, doesn’t get bored easily, takes initiative, and gets along with all sorts of people. You will need to have reliable transportation and be able to come in within 40 minutes for CALL-IN shifts.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Hosting players in and out of their rooms, explaining rules, performing an intro monologue to each room, and acting as different characters inside room etc.
- Being CALL-IN during Weekdays (Mon-Thur) where if a game books, you come in at $20 an hour for a guaranteed minimum of 3 hours.
- Giving excellent customer service while checking people in, out, taking payments, upselling rooms, and providing information.
- Operating games and monitoring player's progress, making sure players do not break rules or damage property.
- Communicating with players during the game, clearly explaining what they need to do, give hints - this must be done in character over the mic.
- Cleaning and maintaining location, perform daily tests of the rooms to ensure the functionality of the room, that all tech is in order, and that they are ready to go.
- Create social media content for the company
- Contribute to creative aspects of events, marketing campaigns, and room evolution.
- Answering phones, emails and general small admin tasks.
- Assisting other Game masters with different tasks.
- Perform/act for certain rooms, and each room requires some performing before the players enter.
Requirements:
- Computer literate and tech-savvy
- Able to wear headphones and to watch a computer monitor for several hours while listening to players in the room
- Great customer service, ability to explain rules in a clear and entertaining way, able to handle dissatisfied customers
- Some performing is required - Actors highly encouraged to apply
- Able to clean, sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, tidy and lift up to 30lbs, physically fit enough to climb (easy)
- Great at working with a team, communicating with team members and managers in a positive, respectful, and open-minded manner.
- Able and capable of working in the dark
- MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
- MUST BE OKAY WITH CALL-IN SCHEDULING
