QuesTek Innovations LLC, located in Evanston, IL, a leader in the field of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), is seeking candidates for a Materials Design Intern in its Research and Development Group to perform work on government and industry R&D projects to solve materials challenges and develop modeling tools. You will collaborate with our cross-functional engineering teams to deliver exceptional modeling for QuesTek’s Materials-By-Design® Technology. This is internship with flexible start and end dates, but the expectation is 10-17 weeks during the summer period.
Responsibilities:
- Develop integrated computational materials engineering models and workflows.
- Work in a fast-paced innovative environment requiring creativity to deliver on challenging project deliverables with guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Contribute to complex multi-faceted research and development projects.
- Contribute to active government funded R&D programs meeting deliverables on time and with high quality.

Requirements:- Candidates should be in the later stages of a bachelor's or advanced degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with computational materials/mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of fundamental mechanics of materials
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
