Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department and ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all AP transactions. This role combines management responsibilities with hands-on involvement in processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining the integrity of the accounts payable function. The AP Supervisor will also support month-end close processes, assist in reconciliations, and drive process improvements within the AP function.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing and payments.
- Optimize AP workflows and reporting by collaborating with IT and finance teams.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and resolve disputes.
- Maintain AP aging reports, proactively tracking and addressing outstanding payables.
- Implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval workflows, and company policies.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting by providing insights into upcoming payment obligations.
- Partner with procurement and operations to streamline vendor management and payment processes.
Candidate Profile
You are a detail-oriented and strategic finance professional with a deep understanding of Accounts Payable best practices. You thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and excel at leading teams, improving processes, and maintaining vendor relationships. You have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing high-volume AP transactions and experience with 3-way matching.
- Experience with ERP systems (Full Circle and QuickBooks experience is a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations).
- Excellent communication, organizational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to solve operational problems.
