For over 25 years, Quick Response Fire Protection has proudly provided the design, installation, maintenance, inspections and repairs of fire protection systems within the tri-state area. Along the way, Quick Response has grown to become the largest provider of fire protection systems in the state of New Jersey, providing fire protection services to all industries and property types.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Assistant to join our team in Freehold, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong payroll background. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll data while supporting various administrative tasks within the branch. This is a fast-paced environment, and attention to detail is critical for success. Previous Union experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting payroll data for accuracy and compliance
- Accurately enter weekly union and non-union payroll data, ensuring timely processing
- Resolve queries from teammates regarding paychecks, deductions, and related questions
- Execute efficiencies for cross-functional department processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Understand union contracts and requirements
- Assist in the hiring process of union and non-union employees
- Collect and submit wage garnishments, child support notices, tax levies as required
- Support continued development of an organized and efficient office environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience in an administrative role, with a focus on payroll or financial data entry preferred
- Experience with payroll software is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
