Major Projects Manager
Summary:
The Major Projects Manager is responsible for managing various project supervisors in the completion of large projects from the initiation to the close, making sure work is completed efficiently, within cost and with highest of quality to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive capital project strategic planning and justification process providing critical leadership in the development and execution of major capital projects. (Projects include technology upgrades, large-scale capital equipment installations, automation upgrades, facility expansions, major construction projects, etc.)
- Manage a team of Project Supervisors charged with overseeing project deliverables and a diverse team of resources to include; internal engineering teams, technical maintenance personnel and contract engineers.
- Through Project Supervisors, manage all activities related to the design and authorization capital projects, including properly defining project goals, project justification, conceptual and detailed design, cost estimating, and management of the review/approval process. Present budget proposals to VP Manufacturing.
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and, Procurement departments to properly engage the necessary resources and optimize spend on projects.
- Coordinate project scheduling with production and planning departments.
- Provide technical guidance to production departments in optimizing costs, operational and value considerations.
- Meet with local jurisdiction officials regarding project objectives and interface with state and local regulatory agencies on zoning/permit requirements as needed.
- Manage relationships with general contractors assigned to major projects. Qualify new contractors as needed to ensure project bids are competitive to the market.
- Ensure effective communication regarding capital projects with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Overall, achieve completion of all major projects on time and on budget while communicating effectively throughout the process.
- Complete other duties as directed by VP Manufacturing.

Education & Training:
Japanese Fluent/ English Proffesional Level
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related discipline.
- Experience relevant to food manufacturing or similar. Working knowledge and experience with FDA requirements, engineering design, construction, project controls (including cost control and scheduling), commissioning and qualification activities.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in engineering leadership with a hands-on foundation in capital project management. Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership in project prioritization in support of company goals and objectives.
- Ability to motivate others through an influencing style and positive outlook in a team environment.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Effectiveness in utilizing appropriate managerial and interpersonal approaches in order to guide/coach subordinates toward task accomplishment.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication, negotiation skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with change management and improvement of organizational effectiveness. Beneficial to have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Physical & Behavioral:
- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time doing office tasks on a computer
- Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
- Occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneel
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds usually from floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
- Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
