The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Document Control Administrator I. The Document Control Administrator is responsible for quality checks on the documents that are submitted to the document management system which are critical to ensuring that R&D projects follow the Design History Process and meet their deliverables and timelines. This role requires an experienced individual contributor who works independently with excellent judgment and decision-making within established policies and procedures.

This role will be onsite in Rochester, NY.

The Position

  • Quality Check the new submission of Design History File Documents / Records in our PLM (Product lifecycle Management) System.
  • Process hard copy material as it comes in by scanning and uploading into PLM System.
  • Maintain and order supplies for the DRC (Document Resource Center) and for the R&D Building using an online procurement application.
  • Manage the annual follow-up on the 'In Work' documents project and any other project that comes up, like the hard drive-to-Windchill project.
  • Create purchase orders for the DRC and manage the monthly accrual of them.
  • Become a change author to update change control documents that we use, create and edit standard documents.
  • Assist and train internal employees in searching and uploading documents efficiently.
  • Aid patrons who come in looking for something or requesting help navigating the PLM System.
  • Inventory and pack material to be sent offsite.
  • Provide audit support for back room.
  • Department Training Coordinator.
  • Help maintain the office area and conference rooms through Gemba walks.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required :

  • Requires an Associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience or combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities is needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proof reading skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to field questions
  • Ability to travel up to 5% between buildings
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.

    No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required.

    Physical Demands

    Position requires ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis. Walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time (up to 75% of the day) are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Personal protective equipment is required as posted.

    Salary Transparency

    The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $22.00 to $27.00 / hour. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
