Job Title: Production Manager - Skateboard Manufacturing

Introduction: We are a dynamic and growing skateboard manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality skateboard decks. We are looking for a highly organized and skilled Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing process. As a key player in our production team, the Production Manager will ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards while maintaining efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the skateboard manufacturing floor.
- Plan and schedule production to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure the efficient operation of production lines, maintaining high levels of productivity and minimizing downtime.
- Monitor production processes to guarantee adherence to quality control standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of production workers, including assembly line workers, machine operators, and quality control staff.
- Conduct regular training and development sessions to improve skills and ensure safety compliance.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for materials, processes, and finished products.
- Monitor production output and perform regular inspections to identify and address any issues.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to implement corrective actions when defects or issues arise.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Maintain an organized inventory of materials, parts, and finished products.
- Optimize inventory levels to reduce waste while ensuring the production process is never delayed due to shortages.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize the production workflow.
- Analyze production data and report on key metrics such as output, efficiency, and quality.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards on the production floor.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Identify and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, including any delays, issues, or improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records, including timesheets, maintenance logs, and inventory reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience (5 years) in a production management role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain management, and quality control systems.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies (e.g., CNC machines, presses, and finishing equipment) is a plus.
