Full time positions supporting elementary and middle school age students with moderate/severe disabilities including students Autism Spectrum Disorder and other complex needs in a public day school setting.
Responsibilities Include:
Evaluate students for services through data collection, teacher reports, observations, checklists and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
Develop appropriate behavior support plans, social skills curriculum and ensure consistency in programming
Oversee the development of data-collection and behavioral procedures in order to monitor target behaviors and student progress
Develop and create objective and measurable individualized IEP goals and objectives
Ensure ABA strategies, behavior plans, and reinforcement systems are implemented consistently and accurately across all settings
Provide student progress toward goals and objectives through IEP progress reports and IEP meetings
Support teachers/staff regarding behavioral management plans/procedures
Provide teachers/staff with resources, tools, and modeling of techniques
Work with students 1:1 or in small groups
Complete needed reports, paperwork and job-related assignments in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with related service providers
Participate in district offered professional development
Preferred Skills:
School based experience preferred
Ability to assist in providing guidance and oversight of school wide behavioral management system as well as individualized behavior plans
Possesses a strong belief that all students can learn and be successful in school
Demonstrates a mindset that focuses on assets & growth, as opposed to deficits
Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills
Willingness to try various approaches, depending on student need
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other special education staff and other colleagues in a professional manner
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Utilize data and reflection to plan for supports and interventions
Ability to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problems
Ability to create graphic visuals of student data in programs such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
BCBA Certification
