  • How long with NM? Started as an intern at NM in 1986 and became a full-time Financial Advisor upon graduation.
  • Previous Experience? Worked in various business development roles during college before joining Northwestern Mutual.
  • Passionate Outside of Work? Enjoys spending time with his wife, Renee, their two dogs, and visiting family in Chicago. He’s an avid golfer at Sequoyah Country Club and occasionally enjoys a nice whiskey and cigar.
  • Ari Simvoulakis, Chief Recruitment Officer :

  • How long with NM? Over eleven years; joined in 2013 as a financial representative intern and later joined the recruiting team full-time.
  • Previous Experience? Began as an intern at Northwestern Mutual before transitioning into recruiting after graduation.

  • Key Responsibilities of a Financial Advisor :

  • Client Consultation : Engage with clients to understand their financial goals, aspirations, and concerns.
  • Financial Planning : Develop comprehensive financial plans that include investments, insurance, and retirement.
  • Ongoing Support : Monitor clients' financial plans and provide regular updates, adjusting strategies as needed to meet changing circumstances.
  • Networking : Build and maintain a network of clients through referrals, community involvement, and professional associations.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience : Previous experience in financial services or insurance is not required.
  • Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Licenses : Obtain necessary licenses, such as SIE, Series 7, & Series 63, and CA Life and Health insurance license (training and sponsorship available).
  • Education : A Bachelor's Degree is Required.
