What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intellectual Property Paralegal position at Quinn Law Group PLLC?
Quinn IP Law is seeking a full-time Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal/Specialist to support our growing practice. Based in Northville, Michigan, Quinn IP Law is celebrating its twenty-year anniversary as a full service intellectual property boutique firm specializing in patent and trademark procurement and prosecution, brand protection, IP monetization, portfolio management, and freedom to operate and validity opinions.
Applicants should have a paralegal degree, paralegal certificate or be currently enrolled in a paralegal program. Prior experience in a law firm or in-house intellectual property practice experience is preferred but not required.
Technical and Practice Experience:
- Assist with filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademark applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Manage client-facing intellectual property databases (Anaqua, Memotech, CPI, among others)
- Monitor prosecution deadlines. Ensure thorough communication and proper responses are provided
- Process all intellectual property-related correspondence and prepare draft responses
- Prepare docket reports tracking intellectual property deadlines
- Research and respond to requests for global portfolio rights and statuses using internal systems and online patent office portals
- Prepare, coordinate execution of, and record intellectual property assignment, declaration, and power of attorney documents
- Maintain electronic files of signed documents, correspondence, application and patent files
- Prepare new applications and associated documents for online filing
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred candidates will possess a dedicated work ethic, professionalism, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to support our clients and Quinn IP Law team members. The firm will provide training and guidance as part of the employee onboarding process.
The position will be based in our Northville office. However, the firm is fully equipped to support remote working and offers a hybrid working arrangement to all employees.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
