Job Description Details
General Overview:
The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in the coordinating, planning, scheduling, and overseeing the work of the trade partners and Quiring General laborers on construction projects. This position is responsible for creating project schedules, with a clear critical path to ensure timely project completion. The Superintendent works closely with the Senior Superintendent, if assigned, and Director to ensure that projects are completed successfully, safely, and efficiently, while maintaining high-quality standards. The Superintendent is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment at the construction site. The Superintendent will provide direction on the work of laborers and trade partners.
Description of Duties:
- Establish and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the applicable project plans, specifications and contracts required for the project.
- Develop, maintain and communicate the construction schedule with assistance from project team.
- Perform schedule updates weekly to master schedule as required by project.
- Regularly develop 3 week look ahead schedules.
- Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination and safety meetings to discuss look ahead schedules, job related issues, outstanding RFI’s and update as-built drawings.
- Coordinate and manage the work of trade partners and Quiring personnel.
- Participate in scope development and the buy-out process.
- Coordinate all required inspections.
- Maintain project documentation (daily logs, pre-task plans, IIPP, HIIPP, Visitor Logs, timecards, tailgate safety meetings, project progress photos, and all other relevant jobsite documents)
- Complete daily quality control reviews of all work in progress.
- Conduct regular safety reports and site walks
- Assist the Project Manager in coordination of change order processing. Ensure that the required approvals have been obtained prior to authorizing change order work.
- Verify sub-contractor time and materials work in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Establish and maintain working relationship with the design team, owners, trader partners, inspectors, and Quiring team.
- Understand and review all types of construction documents and resolve discrepancies to ensure constructability.
- Effectively manage the utilization of Quiring Rental tools and equipment.
- Provide high-level management of safety, quality, and schedule/ risk compliance for the project and team.
- Actively participate in job related meetings; i.e.: WIP. Superintendent, Pre-construction, Subcontractor Coordination, design, and various other meetings.
- Lead job safety planning and monitor job site safety performance
- Address trade partner safety deficiencies and issue violations.
- Ensure trade partners are meeting schedule and quality of work performed. Notify project team of any deficiencies or issues with performance.
- Coordinate with safety manager on safety planning.
- Manage and complete pre-punch list as needed and owner punch list with subcontractors
- Direct and lead project staff such as Laborers, Foreman, Lead Foreman, Field Engineers, and Assistant Superintendents.
- Train, mentor and help develop assistant superintendents, field engineers, foreman and labor; Active role in mentorship and career pathing of team members.
- Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff. Active role in mentorship and career pathing of team members.
- Reviews and approves timecards.
- Ensure no work is performed by trade partners without an executed subcontract, approved insurance, and a valid contractor’s license.
- Adheres to safety protocols while using tools and while on the jobsite.
- Reports on safe working conditions to superintendent and documents them in safety reports.
- Active participation and execution of Quiring’s Safety Program to maintain a healthy and injury-free work environment.
- Participation in training and company meetings as appropriate to facilitate individual and company growth.
- Promote goodwill between Quiring and its suppliers/trade partners.
- Build and maintain exceptional client and team member relationships.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
This position is assigned to an active construction site. There will be regular and daily exposure to hazardous materials, noisy environments, and weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. PPE, including hard hats, protective eye wear and appropriate footwear is required to be worn while on the active site.
