Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

Establish, coordinate, and maintain an accounting system that accurately reflects the financial position of the organization. Responsible for managing the day-to-day priorities of the Accounting team, overseeing various financial reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accounting procedures comply with GAAP and banking regulations. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Board reports and key performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Provide regular financial analyses, forecasting, and strategic insights to executive leadership to support decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting. Regularly assess and mitigate risks within accounting processes.
  • Manage Call reports, federal reserve filings, and allowance for credit loss calculations, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory compliance.
  • Lead coordination with external and internal auditors, tax teams, and regulators, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
  • Lead and mentor the Accounting team, fostering professional growth, team performance, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee budgeting and cost management processes, monitoring performance against budgets and recommending improvements for cost control.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including technology enhancements, to optimize accounting workflows and data security.
  • Assist in developing financial strategies to support bank growth and capital requirements, including asset-liability management to balance risk and profitability.
  • Produce audited GAAP financial statements and footnotes, support major purchasing and lease decisions, and manage special projects as needed.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.


Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, or similar; OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in functional area.
  • Additional eight (8) years of progressive experience in functional area.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Preference to MBA, Master's in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Expertise with bank accounting functions.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 and the following technology: FIS (Horizon), BankTel, superior knowledge of Excel and advanced functional programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of OCC regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in understanding multiple consumer banking and lending departments.
  • Excellent financial analytic and forecasting abilities, including knowledge of accounts payable functions.
  • Superior knowledge and experience of consumer banking financial institution policies and procedures, including dividend and shareholder experience and relations.
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
  • Must be able to coach, mentor, and train.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change daily, and where employees wear many hats.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
  • Self-directed, yet effective working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and growth within the banking and financial industry.

Benefits

This role's annual base salary range is $150,000 - $185,000.
