Our team is committed to delivering quality and precision in every project. “Pride, Grit, & Own It!” Position Available : Assistant Controller R-2 Contractors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a basic understanding of accounting and finance looking to grow their skills in a supportive environment. This role will also require basic people management skills, including working with team members, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration. Responsibilities : Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports under the supervision of senior finance staff. Help manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Assist with monthly and quarterly closings, including reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts. Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and organizing financial data. Prepare reports for management, including basic financial analysis and variance reporting. Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration. Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Participate in the preparation for audits and assist in gathering necessary documentation. Provide general support to the finance department as needed, including filing and organizing financial documents. Work closely with team members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Provide guidance and support to junior finance staff when necessary. Assist in training and onboarding new team members in finance-related processes. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent coursework and experience. Some accounting or finance experience, including internships or coursework in accounting, is a plus but not required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Basic leadership and people management skills, including teamwork and mentoring abilities.
