About the Job:
We seek an energetic, hard-working person to join our outstanding R. A. Wood Associates team. The position is for an Associate Quality Engineer with at least 2 - 3 years of experience in quality management, root cause analysis and corrective action, product quality assurance, supplier management, continuous improvement, or a similar role. The position is for an Associate Quality Engineer with at least 2 - 3 years of experience in quality management, root cause analysis and corrective action, product quality assurance, supplier management, continuous improvement, or a similar role. Desired strengths include:
- Electronic failure analysis,
- Root cause/corrective action with suppliers.
To perform effectively, this person must learn details about our products to understand how our Quality System helps create great products for our customers. This job, in particular, involves:
- Maintaining ongoing communication with suppliers to ensure they deliver failure-free, high-quality parts.
- Contact suppliers to receive RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for returning failed parts.
- Validate and provide test data documenting the problems with the failed parts.
- Track outgoing shipments and maintain status with suppliers.
- Analyze the failures and request corrective action as required.
- Track incoming returned material.
- Ensure the repaired parts work correctly when re-installed in our products.
The ability to work independently with little direction and effectively as part of an integrated team is required.
Requirements:
- An associate's degree in electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering with ASQ certification is preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen; a secret security clearance is highly desirable.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheets.
- Experience with RF and Microwave electronics and surface mount technology and processes is preferred.
