This position involves various tasks related to grain farming, conservation efforts, and farm management activities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our farm and contributing to our environmental initiatives.
Duties
- Fieldwork: Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting grain crops. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, combines, and sprayers.
- Conservation Efforts: Support conservation projects such as soil preservation, water management, and habitat restoration. Follow best practices for sustainable farming.
- Farm Management: Help manage day-to-day operations, including monitoring crop health and coordinating with landowners.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of farm activities, crop yields, and equipment usage.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a farm hand or in a similar agricultural role. Familiarity with grain farming practices and equipment is essential. CDL certified or plan to complete CDL training preferred.
- Skills: Strong ability to operate farm machinery and basic knowledge of conservation practices is a plus.
- Reliability: Demonstrated dependability and commitment to working long hours during peak seasons. Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and tasks.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Extended hours
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
- Year round work
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
