JOB SUMMARY
In addition to performing the responsibilities of a CNC operator, the CNC Lead is a hand-on leader to the production floor who facilitates and oversees the activity of other CNC operators during their assigned shift.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- 2 Year degree in an engineering-related field is preferred
Experience
- 3 years of experience CNC machines and mechanical tools
Requirements and Certifications
- Forklift truck experience is a plus
- Demonstrates basic mathematical skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Able to read, write and understand work instructions and visual drawings
- Must be able to communicate in English

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Machining Department Personnel to improve quality and production.
- Oversee set up, fixturing, tooling, gaging, program installation, and operation of CNC machine tools.
- Read and interpret part prints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Train CNC Machining Department operators.
- Supervise CNC Machining Department production employees.
- Maintain production and quality control paperwork during production run.
- Maintain tool inventory and department supplies.
