Job Summary: This position is responsible for updating Garrison Logistics new carrier packets, regulating carrier set up based off FMCSR and Garrison Logistics Performance Standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal regulations, and other office duties within daily responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education: College degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business-related field preferred. Previous customer service and/or Logistics experience preferred.
Experience: Knowledge of Trucking Industry a plus.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to interact and communicate effectively over-the-phone, through e-mail and face to face. Capacity to recognize when action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time. Aptitude to prioritize workflow to use time effectively. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to calculate transit times. Competency to use discretion and good judgment. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Duties:
- Responsible for updating Garrison Logistics New Carrier Packets
- Approves or denies new carrier set up based off Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) pertaining to the qualification of carriers and Garrison Logistics Performance Standards.
- Review the qualifications of each incoming carrier and ensure compliance with company policies and Federal regulations.
- Responsible for collecting all pages of the Garrison Logistics New Carrier Packet.
- Scans all paperwork into system.
- Works with multiple different insurance companies to obtain carrier insurance.
- Contacts the insurance company to get updated policy numbers.
- Verifies equipment is insured.
- If necessary, verifies reefer breakdown is included on the policy.
- Assist operations with capacity and performance as required.
- Answer the brokerage 800 line.
- Track and trace of brokerage loads.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
