Job Purpose
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall administration and efficient daily operation of the assigned Energy Services branch in accordance with R. H. Foster Energy’s goals, objectives, and strategic plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Branch Manager should lead with an “ownership” mindset, demonstrating ownership of all branch duties and responsibilities, ownership of the branch goals, and ownership of the outcomes, including but not limited to setting goals for and holding employees accountable, responsibility for the overall financial success of the branch, ownership of customer service failures, customer retention, ownership of sales growth, and taking pride in the overall success of the branch.
- Supervises Service Department staff or Service Manager.
- Supervises customer service team (CSRs) or Office Manager.
- Hiring and training of direct reports and ownership and accountability for the hiring, training, and development of all staff within the branch.
- Ensure that the branch is compliant with all safety regulations.
- Ensure employees acquire necessary certifications and celebrate the growth and development of branch staff.
- Meet with company managers to discuss strategic goals and objectives.
- Help to develop budgets and manage all staff to strictly adhere to budget.
- Provide day-to-day supervision to drivers, manage timecards, and maintain efficiency and discipline as necessary. Ensure that Hours of Service guidelines and laws are strictly complied with for all employees subject to those regulations.
- Monitor productivity, customer service, adherence to procedures, overall performance, and safety of all branch staff.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure all branch staff have the equipment and training needed to perform their jobs safely.
- Recruit, train, and manage the performance of all drivers.
- Manage expenses and grow sales to ensure the highest productivity is being achieved at the lowest cost.
- Ensure any customer complaints, including customer service failures, employee failures, spills, insurance claims, or damages, are quickly resolved to customer satisfaction as per company policies and procedures. The Director and Executive Manager must be notified within 24 hours, and all incident paperwork must be completed within 24 hours.
- Review daily delivery reports and any forecast reports, including accountability for drivers and communicating account adjustments needed to the Delivery Center.
- Timely completion of all administrative duties, including invoicing, billing, and compliance reports, coding of invoices, and adherence to all payroll expectations.
- Ownership and management of Inventory processes, including ensuring that physical and liquid inventory are managed and that counts are done on schedule to ensure proper financial controls are in place.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise additional employees in Service, Dispatch, Office and Sales. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and discounts.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
