Responsibilities
- Infection Control Leadership & Compliance
- Leads infection control compliance in accordance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, CDC, IHS, and GSU standards.
- Ensures infection prevention compliance across all hospital departments.
- Conducts medical record reviews and patient rounds to identify infections and ensure policy adherence.
- Ensures staff is up-to-date and compliant with infection prevention protocols.
- Data Surveillance & Performance Monitoring
- Monitors and documents infection prevention performance through scheduled and impromptu rounds.
- Observes aseptic techniques and standard precautions.
- Checks quality control programs in hospital units to ensure infection control compliance.
- Analyzes surveillance data to detect deviations from infection baseline rates and take corrective action.
- Training & Collaboration
- Conducts education programs for hospital staff on infection prevention best practices.
- Collaborates with departments to enhance infection control strategies.
- Participates in performance improvement programs to ensure hospital-wide infection prevention compliance.
- Hospital & Community Infection Prevention
- Tracks hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
- Identifies patients at high risk for infections and implements preventative measures.
- Works closely with unit nurses in follow-up investigations of HAIs.
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Infection Control (CIC) credentialed
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $37.54 - $39.29 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
