The Party Chief ensures all work is completed accurately, on time, and within budget, while meeting client expectations. This role requires managing resources, meeting deadlines, and reporting directly to the Survey Manager. The Party Chief will provide regular project status updates and report any issues related to scope, resources, or deadlines. Additionally, the Party Chief identifies potential risks and proposes solutions to mitigate them. This role involves managing the project from the field, maintaining control over the pace and budget, and building strong client relationships. The Party Chief also mentors and trains Instrument Operators to help them grow professionally.

Responsibilities
- Perform construction layout to establish control points, building grid lines, utilities, retaining walls, site concrete, etc.
- Set up and adjust surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS, for accurate layout work.
- Mark reference points and boundaries on-site to guide construction activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to interpret plans and provide layout specifications.
- Verify existing site conditions and ensure compliance with design drawings.
- Conduct as-built surveys to document completed work and ensure it meets project specifications.
- Maintain accurate survey records and documentation for project files.
- Troubleshoot and resolve layout-related issues during the construction process.
- Ensure all surveying work complies with legal and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in surveying technology and construction methods.
- Transfer field data to office staff in a clear and concise manner.
- Train and mentor Instrument Operators to help develop their skills and careers.
- LSI or PLS certification, or at least 4 years of experience in the field.
- Minimum of 4 years of field surveying experience.
- Strong background in mathematics.
- Clean driving record.
- Solid knowledge of survey principles and techniques.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.
- Proficiency in operating the latest field surveying technology.
- Proficient in Trimble Business Center.
- Experience with AutoCAD software, including Civil 3D or Land Development Desktop applications.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
