REQUIREMENTS & QUALITIES
- Proven history of successful business and staff development
- Experience in building a book of business
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a great listener
- Ability to implement effective coaching strategies and assimilate new producers
- Innovative and strategic mindset
- Self-starting, motivating, and an effective delegator
- Leads by example and possesses a team-building spirit
- Decisive decision maker, taking the ideas and opinions of others into consideration
- Up to date with the latest social media and marketing trends
- In-depth knowledge of insurance carrier markets and current products
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office programs; experience with AMS360 a plus!
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License
- Means to conduct local travel
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for supervising and developing the Commercial Associate Producer team to effectively grow new business revenue and build books of business. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Mentoring and motivating associate sales staff to reach their individual goals and department sales targets
- Developing and implementing individualized training programs
- Attending Commercial Insurance prospect meetings and assisting with cold calling
- Developing marketing campaigns, sales forecasts and incentives
- Teaching and reinforcing the importance of using sales tracking tactics and software
- Conducting regular sales development and team meetings
- Managing day-to-day tasks including regular communication, time-off requests, employee relations, performance reviews, recruiting, interviewing, etc.
- Managing and maintaining your own personal book of business
- Developing and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers
- Partnering with the commercial management leadership team to ensure that strategic goals and agency-wide objectives are being met
