Job Overview
Seeking a dedicated and nurturing Caregiver/Nanny to provide exceptional care for my two children at our home. My youngest requires someone with a special gift of working with children with severe special needs, having experience caring for nonverbal kiddos on the spectrum and epilepsy is a plus. I am a full time single mother, caregiver, provider and Realtor and am in need of a focused employee that can self manage and create and maintain a healthy routine with the children schedules and needs. My schedule needs can vary with increase hours needed during school/holiday/summer breaks, although I need someone that can commit to 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with special needs, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and fun atmosphere. Proposed schedule: Tuesday 2-6pm, Thursday 2-6:30, Saturday 8 hr shift, Sunday 5 hr shift
Duties
- Provide attentive and loving care for children, including child with special needs.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks while accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring toys and play areas are tidy.
- Assist with homework and educational activities to support learning objectives.
- Communicate effectively with parent regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Implement routines that encourage positive behavior and social skills.
- Ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare or caregiving is preferred, particularly with children with special needs, including autism (nonverbal) and epilepsy.
- Familiarity with child development principles and educational activities is a plus.
- Skills in meal preparation that cater to children's nutritional needs are highly valued.
- A nurturing attitude combined with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively is essential.
- Certification in CPR or first aid is advantageous but not mandatory.
