Racing Louisville FC, also known as just Racing, is Kentucky’s top-tier professional women’s soccer team competing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Racing plays at Lynn Family Stadium and operates out of Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center in Louisville, KY. Racing Louisville FC is run by Soccer Holdings, LLC, the same organization behind the men’s professional soccer team, Louisville City FC.  

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Racing Louisville FC is looking for a General Manager to lead and manage all aspects of team operations, including recruiting, compliance, and performance. The General Manager will develop and execute long-term strategies to ensure sustained success while offering comprehensive support to players and staff. This is a critical leadership role responsible for fostering a positive, supportive environment aligned with the Club’s core values. 
 
This is a full-time on-site position based in Louisville, KY. The role requires work during evenings and weekends, in addition to standard business hours. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to Louisville, KY. 
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations: 
  • Oversee all aspects of team operations and development, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Ensures effective communication between coaching staff, medical staff, players, and the front office.  
  • Establish clear goals and deliver appropriate feedback to maximize team performance. 
  • Communicate regularly and ongoing with Club stakeholders regarding development, strategy, and best practices; continuously look for opportunities to approach and address challenges. 
  • Manage the team budget and expenditures in collaboration with Club leadership. 
 
Recruitment: 
  • Direct oversight of player recruitment and acquisitions; communicates with agents and external contacts regarding contract negotiations. 
  • Regularly collaborates with coaching staff to identify and build a competitive roster. 
  • Develops long-term strategies for succession planning and team development. 
  • Oversees player contracts, negotiations, and adherence to league regulations. 
 
Compliance: 
  • Manages outgoing and incoming player loans in compliance with the NWSL. 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact with the NWSL regarding league regulations regarding player safety, reporting, protocols, and compliance. 
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with the NWSL Players Association and Racing Louisville FC representatives.
 
Performance: 
  • Develop and implement a player evaluation process that includes written assessments, feedback to players and staff, and recommendations for team & individual development. 
  • Review and analyze strategies, processes, and procedures to increase player care and maximize resources. 
  • Ensures safety standards and best practices are followed at all times. 
  • Address and resolve team-related issues, conflicts, and/or disciplinary matters. 
  • Fosters a positive team environment aligned with the Club’s vision, mission, and core values. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a leadership position within a professional sports organization. 
  • 5 years of relevant experience working with athletes, coaches, and technical staff.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing multiple functions within a professional sports organization.
  • Experience managing player recruitment and scouting. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the professional soccer environment and technical components, including US and international soccer markets. 
  • Knowledge of economic, financial, and industry data necessary to utilize Club resources.
  • Experience handling and analyzing performance data, preferably regarding female athletes. 
  • Must be able to make tough decisions; take responsibility for communicating feedback clearly and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential information. 
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends. 
  • Self-motivated with solid organizational and planning skills.  
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment comprehensive background check.
  • Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the US.  
 
Preference will be given to applicants with proven experience working with women’s collegiate and/or professional soccer.

Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, climb, grasp, stretch, stoop, and reach above head. 
Ability and willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
