Rack Room Shoes corporate headquarters located in the university area of Charlotte, NC, is currently seeking a Benefits Specialist. Oversees and administers Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Non FMLA leave requests in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. Coordinates the FMLA / non-FMLA leave and disability process for eligible employees and ensures all applicable deadlines are met.
Essential Functions :
- Work within a comprehensive leave of absence and workplace accommodation program in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Primary liaison with the outsourced Leave Administrator who receives, processes, and communicates on leave requests, eligibility, and time limits
- Counsels and advises managers and employees on escalation matters related to eligibility and application for leaves of absence, workplace accommodations and their interaction with applicable laws, rules & regulations
- Consults with departments on workplace accommodation requests regarding feasibility for providing employees with workplace accommodation assignments
- Consult and support our employees on questions and compliance regarding Leave of Absence benefits and policies
- Responsible for manual data entry to process termination records in system of record
- Timely and accurately submit approved claim notifications through our internal system of record
- Stays current on applicable industry resources for legislative issues and current trends; communicates information as needed to update policies and procedures
- Develop recommendations for creating new or amending existing leave and accommodation management workflows, policies, procedures, communication strategies, etc.
