Job Summary
Radford University seeks an Associate Director of IT Infrastructure who will work closely with the Director of IT Infrastructure to establish infrastructure direction and goals and provide a secure and highly reliable server and network infrastructure. The Associate Director will have strong organizational, technical, leadership and management skills and assist in the development of overall vision, architectural design, integration strategy, and analysis in delivering all internally and externally hosted and managed IT infrastructure. This position has solid technical infrastructure experience including cloud, virtualization, storage, network technologies, server and storage, WAN , LAN , and telephony. This position requires organization of multiple, often simultaneous projects and timelines from start to finish. This individual will collaborate with operationally focused teams to ensure incident and problem resolution and assist in fulfilling service requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience managing, implementing and supporting technology in an enterprise environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with faculty, students, and staff. Experience planning and managing IT projects. Experience analyzing and resolving complex technology issues. Demonstrated experience in infrastructure design and staff development. Deep understanding of current and emerging infrastructure and operations technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them. Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the University to enhance capabilities that support campus objectives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following technologies preferred network monitoring and management tools, NIST Framework, ITIL , Cisco network and voice technologies, firewalls, VMware, Red Hat Linux, Windows Servers, Windows & Apple device management and patching. Detailed understanding of managing systems in a cloud environment with preference for experience managing Microsoft 365 and AWS environments.
