Possess 2-3 years of work experience involving administrative operations, event planning, utilizing technology, managing work groups, scheduling appointments, and executing program communications.
Job Summary
This is a V- TOP grant-funded, part-time, restricted position that will support the administrative operations of implementing a comprehensive “career and life ready” program for undergraduate students that will lead to executing the ExL Experiential Learning Pathway. Responsibilities will include scheduling appointments and meetings, monitoring budget expenditures, tracking grant deliverables, assisting in producing reports, coordinating career events, booking guest speakers, and marketing programs to students, employees, and campus stakeholders. The Project Manager will assist in managing five work groups for the grant: 1) Early Student Engagement, 2) Access & Opportunity, 3) Career Readiness Across the Curriculum, 4) Virginia Employer Advisory Board, and 5) ExL Data Plan. The position reports to the Director of Career & Talent Development and requires extensive collaboration with the Provost Office, the Highlander Student Success Center, Admissions and Student Life.
Required Qualifications
Experience in effectively engaging students from underrepresented backgrounds including first-generation students.
Experience in utilizing social media platforms to increase student and employer engagement is preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with a variety of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, employers, parents, etc.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make
independent decisions by exercising sound judgment.
Demonstrated experience utilizing software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly organized with an attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
