Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Dispensing:
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately by measuring, counting, and labeling medications.
- Prepare and package prescriptions for distribution to patients or healthcare providers.
- Verify the correct medication, dosage, and quantity before providing it to patients.
- Patient Interaction:
- Provide customer service by answering phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, and directing patients to pharmacists for detailed consultations.
- Counsel patients on proper medication storage, usage, and potential side effects (under the supervision of a pharmacist).
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of medications and supplies.
- Order and receive medications from suppliers, ensuring that they are stored properly.
- Assist with inventory checks and manage expired or returned medications.
- Medication Preparation:
- Prepare medications for dispensing, including compounding (if applicable) and labeling.
