Role And Responsibilities
- Supervise a group of 2 or more individuals within the Compliance and Risk group,
- Develop – in partnership with the team - document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for NERC compliance processes and internal processes, ensuring they align with industry best practices and NERC reliability standards.
- Design and implement training programs to ensure all relevant personnel are informed of compliance policies, internal controls, and procedures.
- Work on the standardization of NERC compliance processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across departments.
- Lead initiatives to standardize Internal Compliance Monitoring Program (ICMP) across the organization, ensuring that all controls are operating effectively to meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in internal controls and NERC compliance processes, driving initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor team and lower-level managers on job specific roles, communication, and collaboration.
- Background in NERC
- 1-2 years management experience
- Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills with working teams and senior level management, CEOs, boards of directors
- University Degree (or equivalent) with 4-6 years domain experience
- Masters/Graduate and 2-4 years domain experience
- Strong understanding of NERC reliability standards and other industry regulations.
- Expertise in developing, implementing, and managing internal control systems and processes to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to design and standardize operational processes and SOPs across multiple departments or functions.
- Experience in creating training materials and programs for a variety of stakeholders, with an ability to communicate complex compliance concepts clearly.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Root cause analysis & process improvement. Big picture thinking that drives team to meet organizational goals and provides cross-functional improvements.
- Expertise in MS Office MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF toolsets
- Management of a small team
- Successful delivery of small cross functional projects
- Process improvement experience with Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- Experience in the green energy or utilities domain
- Experience with a U.S. based company
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill information and present it in an understandable manner appropriate for the audience
- Training creation, process improvement.
