The Buyer-Expeditor is responsible for coordinating the buying of materials, products and services. This position will negotiate contracts, pricing with vendors and/or manufacturers. This role will work with all departments throughout the Company, including Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales, IT, and Administration etc.

Responsibilities:
- Aide in managing inventory levels, maintaining material flow to meet production/sales requirements.
- Research and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing and terms.
- Monitor performance of Vendors, on time delivery and quality.
- Prepare quotes, purchase orders per material specifications and requirements.
- Continually look for cost reductions on material and processes.
- Work with vendors to create programs in support of Lean manufacturing.
- Manage purchasing procedures per ISO requirements.
Education:
Minimum of an A.S. or A.A.S degree in Office Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Sales or Administrative Assistant from an accredited college or university or similar work experience.
Experience:
2-5 years relevant experience in purchasing, inventory control, lean manufacturing, shipping and receiving.
Knowledge of:
- Purchasing fundamentals and process, shipping and receiving, inventory control, lean manufacturing, and understand basic accounting functions.
- Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, email and PDF’s/prints, MRP.
- Familiar with supply chain and inventory management systems. Understand forecasting and budgeting.
- ISO procedures
Skilled at:
- Communication with the ability to easily work with vendors as well as internal customers. Self-motivated and promotes positive involvement.
- Organizational and record keeping skills. Attention to detail and problem solving aptitude.
