Position Summary: The Manager – Production manages and directs the company’s production processes. This role plans and implements the layout of equipment, flow, assembly methods and personnel utilization.  They proactively manage and coordinate all related production areas and activities including scheduling, staffing, inventory, shipping, receiving and purchasing. This role ensures proper processes are in place for the flow of materials, parts and assemblies to convert a sales order to a shippable product. The Manager - Production manages the regular maintenance and cleaning of the facility and grounds. This role works in harmony with the Departments of Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and Engineering to ensure that products are shipped in a timely manner and that the product is manufactured to the proper quality level and customers are satisfied. They support the company’s Vision, Purpose and Culture Policy Statements. This position reports to the President.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the President informed of all necessary information.
  • Management of all Production Assembly personnel, Shipping/Receiving personnel, Facilities Maintenance personnel; Production Calibration Laboratory personnel, Purchasing personnel.
    • Works with Sales & Product Mgt on product unit forecasting
    • Works with Engineering on specified parts
  • Maintain ongoing quality improvement efforts.
  • Recruitment of new personnel as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing formal production planning tools.
  • Proactively work with other departments; be a team player; be a solution provider.
  • Other items as needed.

 

Education:

  • BS IET, MET, or EET or equivalent degree required.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years in production of electronic products with a minimum of 5 years in supervision.

 

Knowledge of:

Manufacturing of electronic assemblies, general knowledge of Facilities Maintenance, familiar with ISO Standards, familiar with Inventory Controls. Familiarity with Navision manufacturing software is a plus.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Computer literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications with minimal typing skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
