Duties
- Process and review patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize ADA coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Manage dental collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain organized dental records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing issues and provide necessary information for claims processing.
- Assist in the development of billing policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Stay current with changes in dental billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental billing, coding, or a related field.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, including knowledge of ADA and other relevant coding systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar office systems and software for billing purposes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is required.
