What are the responsibilities and job description for the High Energy Laser Physicist position at Radiance Technologies?
Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is searching for a talented physicist and leader to join our high energy laser team. An ideal candidate would be a self-starter with excellent technical skills and creative design and problem-solving capabilities enabled by the application of physical and mathematical concepts across disciplines. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly convey complex concepts are a plus. This work will support our high energy laser efforts in the Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Group.

- PHD in Physics, or relevant technical field, and 5 years of work experience
- Multi-physics modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities relating to lasers (CW & pulsed), EO&RF signal propagation, hypersonics, plasmas, EO/IR sensors
- Familiarity with laser-based physics phenomenology and statistical methods
- Skill using MATLAB or other software to model physical phenomena
- Project or task management experience including proposal development
- Experience with semiconductor laser diode systems, devices, and experiments
- Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or relevant field
- US citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Experience with multi-physics software development
- Experience with pulsed lasers and propagation effects
- Demonstrated experience authoring scientific briefings and/or reports
- Experience working in laboratory environments
- Experience with laser systems, optics and associated support equipment
- Experience collecting and processing data from instrumentation
