Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation & Flow: Assist in getting patients ready for exams, including helping with dressing/undressing and ensuring an even flow of patients to maintain schedule efficiency.
- Patient Care: Assist with patient transfers and movement, ensuring patients are comfortable during the exam process.
- Clerical & Documentation: Assist with medical records management, including sending/receiving reports, updating forms, and maintaining accurate patient data.
- Equipment & Environment: Set up and clean exam/procedure rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory (e.g., wheelchairs, gowns, towels).
- Communication: Ensure patients and families are informed about delays or changes in the schedule. Support the communication of results to physicians.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control practices, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive patient information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or related environment preferred.
- Strong communication skills, ability to follow protocols, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Must adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines in handling patient information.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to radiation risk and communicable diseases.
- Moderate noise levels within the work environment.
