Position Overview :
Radiology Associates is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist responsible for performing Nuclear Medicine and PET / CT procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in the field and be passionate about providing high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for conducting technical procedures, operating radiation detection equipment, preparing radiopharmaceutical materials, and evaluating image quality while ensuring safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities :
- Technical Procedures : Perform in vivo and in vitro studies, operate radiation detection and imaging equipment, including scintillation gamma and in vitro counting devices.
- Radiopharmaceutical Management : Calibrate, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceutical materials to patients. Maintain accurate records of receiving, dispensing, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Image Evaluation : Evaluate recorded images for technical quality, process computerized image data, including reconstructed SPECT and PET / CT images.
- Patient Care : Provide care for the physical and psychological needs of patients during exams, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Inventory & Record-Keeping : Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure proper documentation of radiopharmaceuticals, therapies, and other radioactive materials.
- Quality Assurance : Perform daily / weekly surveys and wipe testing procedures. Conduct quality assurance on equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to radioactive materials licensure requirements and radiation safety protocols.
- Training & Instruction : Provide technical guidance and instruction to students, new employees, and other imaging techs.
- Patient Coordination : Request and coordinate patient information, including medical charts and charge slips for exams.
- Contamination Monitoring : Monitor the Nuclear Medicine Department with portable survey meters for potential contamination.
Required Qualifications :
Licensed in the state of Florida as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
