SALES MANAGER- PREVIOUS HOTEL SALES MANAGER/COORDINATOR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
HOTEL WILL BE GOING THRU A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR RENOVATION IN 2025 TO INCLUDE ALL GUESTROOMS, HALLWAYS, RESTAURANT, LOUNGE AND LOBBY!!
Overview- Responsible for room revenue for a 275 room suburban hotel with 10 suites and 16,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal, Entertainment market handling group room blocks as well as any other areas as required.
PRIMARY REPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and booking all targeted sales markets in SMERFE Market.
· Prepare and present proposals & agreements with accurate information to client.
· Responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new accounts to maximize revenue.
· Conduct site tours of hotel
· Develop marketing strategies, participate in trade shows/ local events, engage in telemarketing and in-person calls.
· Responsible for the review of tentative accounts to assure timely conversion to definite release of space to the individual hotel market.
· Cultivate relationships, build new business in designated markets by promoting hotel and obtaining referrals from local catering venues by visiting them 2-4 times per year.
· Meet and or exceed monthly sales goals – bookings and activities
· Develop knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s
· Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
· Utilize brand tools as resource for sales information
· Ensures optimal levels of customer service in the Hotel Sales Department with a high level of commitment to make sure every guest is satisfied.
· Assist with the marketing plan
· Interacts with sales contacts and guests to ensure all expectations are achieved.
· Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous and potential clients.
· Develops cooperative interaction and teamwork with all other departments throughout the hotel.
· Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
· Works collaboratively with sales team to ensure optimal hotel occupancy and appropriate hotel yield based upon demand.
· Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings
· Participate in MOD coverage as required
· Complete tasks assigned by GM and DOS, other duties as required

EXPERIENCE/SKILL/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1 or more years of Sales management experience in a mid to large hotel. Excellent leadership, organizational and communications skills required. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Effective verbal & written communication skills. Present a professional appearance. Team player. Detail oriented. Opera Sales and Catering system / Opera PMS experience a plus!
