Job Overview
The Horticulture Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the cultivation and maintenance of landscaping at our Resort. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the garden areas, ensuring optimal growing conditions for all plants.
- Develop and implement irrigation schedules to maintain proper moisture levels in various landscapes.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for planting, pruning, and maintaining plant health.
- Manage landscape design projects from conception to execution, ensuring aesthetic appeal and sustainability.
- Conduct regular inspections of plant health, identifying pests or diseases and implementing appropriate treatments.
- Train and supervise staff in horticultural best practices, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Maintain accurate records of plant growth, maintenance schedules, and inventory of supplies.
Skills
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools relevant to horticulture tasks.
- Strong knowledge of seasonal requirements and landscape design principles.
- Experience in commercial grounds keeping practices including pest control, fertilizers and garden maintenance.
- Ability to irrigate effectively using various systems to promote healthy plant growth.
- Familiarity with growing techniques for a wide range of plants including flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an attention to detail in maintaining plant health.
- Requires a Master Gardener Certification or Horticulture related Degree
