What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Supervisor position at Sandpiper Bay Resort?
Job Summary:
Security Shift Supervisors are responsible for the overall supervision of the security team as well as the security and safety of the resort, guests, associates, visitors and vendors; and for providing exceptional service for our guests. They also are responsible for conducting vehicle and foot patrols of the property.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain Constant Patrol around the property.
- Assisting with any incident or emergencies.
- The supervision of all gatehouse officers and Lifeguards.
- Relaying any concerns or issues to Security manager for follow-ups.
- Ensuring that Officers and Lifeguards are performing the assigned duties appropriately.
- The Shift Supervisor is the Training Officer for their assigned shift.
- Ensuring that all the proper paperwork is generated on the Shift is accurate and complete.
- In the event of a Call Out find coverage for or cover the shift.
- Pass down and receive information to ensure constant communication with the staff and Security manager.
- Responsible for documenting and assisting in handling disciplinary issues that may occur during the shifts to ensure that proper procedures are followed and any behavior that is not in line with SANDPIPER BAY RESORT policies is corrected.
- Assisting with unlocking Safe Boxes.
- Assisting with unlocking doors.
- Assisting with Police Investigations.
- Knows, understands, and enforces SANDPIPER BAY RESORT policies, rules, and regulations.
- Trained and capable of deescalating heated arguments and situations.
- Uses the Chain of Command to advise of any ongoing personnel issues.
- Maintain all department vehicles and equipment to ensure that they are operating properly and reporting any deficiencies as appropriate.
- Writes clear and concise reports on all unusual incidents observed by or brought to the attention of the supervisor.
- Maintains confidentiality of all meetings, files, reports, Ongoing Investigations, and documents.
- Must utilize good and thoughtful customer service skills and common sense in all encounters with guests, visitors, Academy Students, and others.
- Relieving both Gatehouse officers for bathroom breaks as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Must hold a current Security Class D license, in good standing.
- 2-5 years’ related experience.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds.
- Physically fit, strong, agile, and dexterous.
- Must have ability to stand for an entire shift.

- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available weekends and holidays
APPLYING THE STANDARDS OF HYGIENE AND SAFETY IS MANDATORY:
- Report to the manager any issues relating to procedures and standards or health and safety standards
- Implement, apply and control the H.A.C.C.P. method and hygiene and safety rules.
- Respect and follow the personal hygiene and uniform rules as set by Sandpiper Bay Resort
- Ensure the maintenance and preservation of premises, equipment, and materials.
