You Will
- Obtain and track authorizations, verify patient eligibility, gather necessary information, and submit authorization requests to insurance companies
- Follow up on authorization requests, address denials, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Educate patients and providers, explain authorization requirements, processes, and timelines
- Maintain records and logs; Keep track of authorization requests, approvals, and denials
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the authorization process
- Forwards authorizations to appropriate department and patient and follows-up with appropriate parties on next steps
- Complete all tasks and projects as assigned
- Exercise sound judgement and an ability to remain professional in all situations.
- You demonstrate effective and professional communication, interpersonal skills and respect with patients, guests & colleagues.
- You have a structured work-approach, understand complex problems and you are able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires a High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Must have 1 year(s) of experience working with various insurance plans, coverage types, and authorization requirements
- Must have prior experience working with patients
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Requires computer literacy and advanced data entry capacity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
