We are seeking a charismatic, organized, and enthusiastic Open Mic Host to lead our monthly community-focused event in Atlanta. As the face of the event, you’ll create a welcoming atmosphere for performers and attendees, lead the show, and embody our values of inclusivity, positivity, and creativity. Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Event Preparation:
- Attend a short pre-event meeting the day before the show to review the schedule.
- Familiarize yourself with the evening’s lineup and performers’ bios.
- Review and prepare scripts for opening remarks, performer introductions, and closing announcements.
Event Day Duties:
- Welcome attendees and set a positive tone for the evening.
- Deliver a brief opening set (up to 3 minutes) to break the ice & outline event rules and structure.
- Introduce each performer with energy and enthusiasm, ensuring smooth transitions between acts.
- Engage with the audience, promote interactive elements (e.g., voting, raffles), and keep the energy high.
- Address any unforeseen issues (e.g., last-minute performer changes) with poise and professionalism.
- Understand the nuances of the show at a high level, in order to confidently answer any questions from attendees.
- Assist with wrap-up by thanking attendees, announcing the next event, and participating in group photos.
Post-Event Duties:
- Provide feedback on event flow, audience engagement, and areas for improvement.
- Engage with social media posts about the event by sharing or commenting.
