Job Summary :
The Senior Construction Manager will oversee multiple Construction Managers , contractors , and activities related to planning , inspection , and design reviews of construction and maintenance projects. This role demands an experienced leader capable of managing various responsibilities and concurrent initiatives. The Senior Construction Manager will be an expert in the field , understanding customer needs and project goals to enhance service and safety . Staying current on the latest technologies and leveraging lessons learned, this role will develop practical solutions for the rail network.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Manage multiple Construction Managers and large rail infrastructure projects .
- Provide accurate documentation for materials and testing.
- Conduct constructability reviews and develop / analyze construction phasing from the railroad's perspective.
- Communicate effectively with contractors and railroad managers .
- Read and understand construction and phasing plans .
- Provide sound and economical solutions for track, subgrade, and drainage facility issues.
- Conduct inspections through various methods as necessary.
- Develop capital and maintenance work projects to mitigate railway risks.
- Prioritize site interventions based on inspections, monitoring, and risk assessments.
- Verify quantities of materials received or used and confirm distances and dimensions for installation accuracy.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as required.
- Be proficient in civil , structures , and tracks .
- Balance multiple responsibilities and concurrent activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
