Job Summary: The Engineer IV applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a specialized area, and independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. This role requires a general understanding of related fields and the ability to function effectively on multidisciplinary teams. The Engineer IV will work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Design a complete project, system, component, or process, or lead review tasks
Prepare complete project documents or provide markups for reviewed documents
Design or provide review of, and conduct experiments
Analyze and interpret data
Formulate and solve problems
Work independently on tasks and use appropriate discretion to escalate concerns before contacting the client
Other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency with electronic communication, including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact with other staff
Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
4+ years of prior experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters degree or equivalent
Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
Experience producing drawings with CAD software
Experience as a Mentor Level 1 Engineer
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
Professional Engineer (PE)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assign tasks to and direct engineers, designers, and administrative staff
Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
Assist with proposals to provide professional services
