Description

The Domestic Violence Regional Coordinator (DV Coordinator) is responsible for supporting and enhancing the connections between domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking service providers and Coordinated Entry Service (CES) providers, including crisis and permanent housing providers to ensure clients have an opportunity to access and utilize CES housing resources to quickly return to stable and permanent housing. The DV Coordinator will work with local, state, and national partners to understand policy that affects the work of both the DV and homeless systems of care.

  • Reports to: Associate Director of Community Housing
  • Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Duties: 

  • Provide strategic coordination and training on regulations and best practices to regional agencies.
  • Create and maintain an ongoing relationship with administrative and program staff at participating agencies within the Service Planning Area (SPA).
  • Engage with other SPA-based DV Coordinators, LAHSA’s DV Coordinator, and the DV Systems Alignment Manager.
  • Coordinate and participate in case conferencing of clients experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking referred to and from the CES, as needed.
  • Participate in building relationships with community partners and networks that serve survivors.
  • Provide regular written reports on regional coordination and data on domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking clients served by the regional CES.
  • Provide technical assistance to local housing and service programs to achieve system alignment.
  • Attend community meetings and workgroups. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least three years relevant work experience in the provision or oversight of a domestic violence services program or homeless service program is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree desirable.
  • Training or experience in the social service field, particularly residential services, highly desired.
  • Interest in addressing social justice issues affecting families and vulnerable groups, and a commitment to the movement to end intimate partner violence.
  • Experience with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking programs, the Los Angeles Coordinated Entry System, and homeless services, including knowledge of best practices and relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of case management and case conferencing.
  • Strong facilitation and mediation skills, including the ability to effectively facilitate productive discussions among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for addressing the intersection of homelessness and domestic violence, including housing first, harm reduction, and trauma-informed service approaches in residential settings, highly desirable. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of policy, systems, and local programs that impact homeless persons and related public funding sources, regulations, requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with individuals, groups and organizations diverse in mission, composition, function, capacity, and geographic location.
  • Ability to articulate and strategically pursue ideas to improve DV and homeless systems.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • 40-hour domestic violence training is required and can be provided upon hire.
