What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Tech/Camera Operator position at Raindrop?

As a Raindrop Production Tech/Camera Operator, you'll have two areas of responsibility. You will shoot fresh, on-brand visual assets covering a range of subject matter and platforms. You will have begun to hone your cinematography chops in diverse contexts and adapt your style to the personalities of the brands we partner with. Also, you will roll up your sleeves to assist our in-house video teams in pre-production through camera equipment preparation, organizing grip and electric equipment, pre-lighting studio sets, and picking up and returning rental equipment. When you are not the camera operator on a project you will assist our other cinematographers by capturing on-location sound, helping the grip and electric department, facilitating DIT, and organizing tear-down after the shoot wraps. You will be a true team player, ready to grow, and be someone the team can count on.

Responsibilities
- Support production teams on a wide range of projects
- Assist or lead the lighting of sets
- Running camera on small/medium-sized shoots
- Supporting crew on larger commercial shoots in a variety of roles (1st AC, Sound, Grip)
- Maintaining the agency's video equipment
- Coordinating gear needs across multiple production teams
- Being proactive in Pre-production with gear needs
- Renting & returning additional equipment as needed
- DIT processing and delivery
- Staying up to speed with the latest trends bid ageas in videography and marketing
- 1-3 years of professional videography experience
- Comfortable operating different cinema cameras from Canon & RED
- Good understanding of lighting techniques
- Experience in safely operating lighting & grip equipment
- Experience recording audio
- Responsible and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask and anticipate needs
- Ability to flex hours -- Most filming is done between 8am-6pm M-F, but we do flex hours for certain shoots
- Current CA driver's license and good driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 30-45 lbs.
- Based in San Diego
- $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience
