Overview:
We are seeking a tech-savvy Accountant with at least five years of advanced bookkeeping and accounting experience across diverse industries. The ideal candidate excels in navigating remote and dynamic environments, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy and problem-solving skills while meeting strict deadlines. Role Description:
As a key team member, you will prepare and analyze financial statements, handle payroll, payroll taxes, and ensure all financial activities are recorded accurately and timely. Key responsibilities include reconciling bank accounts and credit card registers, as well as processing and submitting payroll data to ensure accurate and compliant financial operations.
What you will be doing:
- Execute monthly financial closes with precision and attention to detail
- Develop and implement procedures for internal controls; including writing SOP’s
- Handle accounts receivable and payable for various clients
- Record journal entries accurately, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Create and submit monthly/quarterly financial reports to management
- Standardize and maintain client files and information in the company's client database
- Identify and correct duplicates and errors during reconciliations
- Execute monthly financial closes with a sense of urgency and 100% accuracy
- Manage tasks such as reconciling payroll data, creating paychecks and posting payroll tax payments
- Assist with late payroll tax filings, federal payroll tax filings, payroll benefit audits, and compliance reviews
- Communicate updates or needed additions in the task management software
What you Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA is a plus
- Start up experience is a must!
- Must have advanced knowledge of accounting software, including but not limited to QuickBooks Online, Keeper, Xero, Sage, Bill.com, and Microsoft Office
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, and general ledger management
- Extensive knowledge of monthly closings
- In-depth knowledge of payroll taxes and laws; balance sheets and monthly financial closings
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities to address financial discrepancies
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely while effectively collaborating with teams/clients to resolve issues
- Dependable, reliable, and meticulous with a high degree of accuracy and precision
- Experience leveraging technology to minimize manual data entry and adherence to established procedures
- Knowledge of WA. State based taxes and accounting a plus
