What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Volleyball Coach position at Rainier Junior / Senior High School?
All newly hired coaches will need to complete the following prior to employment:
1. NFHS Certification.
2. First Aid Card.
3. District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check.
4. Completion of OSAA Concussion Test.
5. Completion of OSAA Steroid Program.
6. Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork.
7. Completion of OSAA Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention.
8. Completion of All District Requirements and employment forms.
Responsibilities
- Formation of teams followed by implementation of program standards & culture
- Organizing practices and communicating clear expectations and standards to players and other coaches
- Tracking the academic progress of student athletes and facilitating necessary support to ensure their academic eligibility and long-term success
Requirements
- High ethical and professional standards
- Strong desire to be a role model for high school student athletes
- Commitment to academic excellence and achievement for all student-athletes
- Demonstrated ability to be a positive leader in a volleyball program
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders
- Technical knowledge of volleyball strategy, staff management, skill development, and coaching techniques
- Previous experience managing a budget and organizing fundraisers
- Previous head coaching experience preferred
