As the Director of Data Analytics at Raise the Future, you will spearhead our data and technology initiatives across our regional offices in Denver, Salt Lake, and Las Vegas, as well as support our virtual employees across multiple states. Reporting to the COO, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data and technology in support of our mission of connecting and supporting youth and families and enhance metric-driven decision making for organizational effectiveness.

You will lead a data team focused on collecting, managing, and reporting data related to program delivery, with additional support for internal departments such as Development, Communications, Government Affairs, and People & Culture, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performance with two direct reports, fostering a collaborative, innovative environment where excellence, continuous improvement and professional development are prioritized.
- Support leaders across Raise the Future in optimizing organizational and departmental performance by providing data-driven insights and creating dashboards that measure progress against long-term operational goals aligned with the organization's mission.
- Lead data reporting for public and private funders, with most reporting focused on government grants.
- Serve as a key strategic thought partner for Raise staff, providing leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of operational best practices in data governance, systems architecture, and technology infrastructure.
- Lead cross-functional, metric-driven initiatives that produce actionable insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Develop a culture of data-centric decision-making and innovation within the Data Analytics team, establishing best practices for utilizing data as a core component of strategic planning and operational excellence.
- Present and translate complex data findings, predictive models, and technical recommendations to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making at the highest levels.
- Establish clear expectations, guidelines, and timelines for data submission from staff across the organization. Collaborate with department leaders to communicate requirements, provide training as needed, and implement monitoring systems to track compliance. Identify and address delays by working with teams to resolve challenges and ensure adherence to organizational data reporting standards.
- Manage relationships with contract IT service providers, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met, systems are secure, and technology infrastructure is optimized for performance and scalability.
Data Analytics and Systems Management
- Architect and implement comprehensive, scalable data analytics strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effectively measuring program performance, operational efficiency, and overall organizational impact.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation, optimization, and evolution of data systems and workflows, proactively identifying and implementing advanced data management solutions and technological improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Establish workflows and dashboards to ensure data tasks are assigned, monitored, and completed efficiently.
- Enhance and/or implement a project management system to streamline the organization's data collection, tracking, and reporting processes. Provide training and ongoing support to staff to maximize system adoption and effectiveness.
- Work closely with departmental leaders to co-design and deploy interactive, real-time data visualization solutions that facilitate the continuous monitoring and optimization of organizational performance.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across all analytics systems and platforms.
- Integrate values of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles into data systems, ensuring that analytics workflows reflect these values and inform business decisions at every level.
- Manage department budgets, identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and potential investments in new data technologies to drive improved organizational performance.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including the selection, evaluation, and management of external data providers and IT systems, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and objectives. Directly establish and maintain relationships as needed with funders.
- Ensure all systems are compliant with IT and data security standards, safeguarding the integrity of organizational data and maintaining alignment with industry regulations and best practices, including HIPPA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Analytics) or equivalent formal data science experience, training and/or certificate program completion.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in managing data infrastructure, analytics operations, and medium to large-scale systems management.
- Advanced proficiency in leveraging data and analytics tools for strategic decision-making and visualization, including expertise in predictive analytics, data warehousing, and machine learning frameworks.
- At least 5 years of experience with analytics programming languages (Python, SQL, R) to build and maintain data models, analytical workflows, and reporting pipelines.
- Extensive experience with databases and reporting software, including systems optimization, query development, reporting, and interactive dashboards (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, MS Dynamics Business Central, Power BI, SurveyMonkey, HRIS systems, etc.).
- Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts and budgets for data and IT system solutions.
- Ability to influence and inspire teams while driving strategic and operational goals.
- Knowledge of IT architecture, system integration, systems optimization, cloud-based technologies, and IT infrastructure security and compliance for scalable solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Advanced analytical skills for evaluating program impact, organizational metrics, and system performance.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of operationalizing complex projects while adapting to evolving priorities.
- Expertise in database management, reporting applications, and developing data pipelines and automation tools.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver high-quality work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with child welfare and human services systems is a plus, particularly in the context of data management and analytics for impact evaluation and grant reporting.
Salary Range: $76,000 - $95,000
Location: Denver, Las Vegas, or Salt Lake City (hybrid at home work schedule)
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position primarily works in a typical office environment, mostly indoor office environment with windows, with office equipment noise and may include frequent interruptions. This position also may require you to attend meetings with partners and vendors in settings outside the office. Considerable time is spent sitting at a desk using a computer and telephone and attending meetings. Flexible and hybrid schedules available.
