Accountant

Position Summary

RaiseRight, the nation’s leader in gift card fundraising, is looking for an Accountant. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with the ability to source problems and help devise appropriate solutions and has excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems, enabling him or her to easily analyze data and build financial reports and ad hoc analysis.

What You will Do

• Support month-end close processes including:
  • Creating monthly journal entries
  • Recording inventory-related entries and performing related analysis
  • Reconciling balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Maintaining the fixed asset ledgers
  • Ensuring financial records are in compliance with GAAP principles
• Assist Accounting Clerk with daily and monthly process of vendor payments, billing and collections, and forecasting.
• Liaise with the Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Support external audits to ensure compliance
• Assist with tax returns and audits
• Support Accounting Manager with other duties as needed, including acquisition and integration work

Who You Are

• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Thorough understanding of basic accounting procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process
• Proficiency with accounting software packages
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
• Affinity and adaptability to new technologies
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
