Job Title: Medical Assistant - Geriatric Medicine/Senior Health Clinic

Duration: 13-week Contract (possibility of extension)

Pay Details:
For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50 mile radius from the facility) (If 40 Hours per week is achieved):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $25.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $1,000.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $10.00
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $400.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $600.00
OR
For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $26.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $1,040.00
Job Description:
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in supporting medical providers and ensuring efficient patient care. Under general supervision, the CMA performs both technical and clerical duties, including obtaining vital signs, assisting with patient preparation for exams and procedures, and ensuring patient comfort. Responsibilities also include specimen collection, phlebotomy, and preparing samples for laboratory analysis while adhering to strict safety and procedural guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain vital signs, weight checks, and assist with patient comfort needs
- Prepare patients for physical examinations and medical procedures
- Restock rooms and supply areas as needed
- Transport patients and assist with moving them from stretchers and wheelchairs
- Register patients and assist with clerical duties, including answering phones and preparing charts
- Perform charge entry and verify patient test requests and billing information
- Assist in obtaining and understanding specimen and test information
- Collect blood and other samples, ensuring proper identification and labeling
- Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain medical instrumentation and equipment
- Ensure compliance with hospital and laboratory policies and procedures
- Follow JCAHO and CAP patient safety guidelines
Certification Requirements:
- BLS (AHA)
- CCMA/RMA/Relevant Medical Assistant License
- High School Diploma
